I wonder if Steve Jobs had an idea of how his life would turn out when he was 14 and knew exactly what he was going to do. I doubt it. By 16 he had met Steve Wozniak and so the story of Apple began, slowly. Both guys had ideas and were into computing, but they still had to research the market and find the missing elements that made Apple the company it is today.
Researching is so important to help you to find the correct pathway for you. These last few weeks have seen both the National Apprenticeship Week and National Careers Week which, like many organisations, SBY has fully supported. During these weeks there have been lots of Tweets, webinars, virtual career fairs, blogs and information shared.
You may have an idea about the sort of career you would like to do, but there are many different routes to get there. The Insight into Apprenticeships team have put together a short video talking about what it might be like to start an apprenticeship as well as other options at 16.
Why not try out this quiz to find out just some of the range of apprenticeships that are out there for you to choose from? Once you have completed the quiz, you can check out the answers here. You might find career that you love!
Back in October last year the blog highlighted that it is never too early to start thinking about your options. You can still find the information and advice produced by the National Careers Week and National Apprenticeship Week.
So why not use the time, when there is still so much available from these national weeks, to start to plot your next steps and your career. Who knows – you might be the next Steve Jobs!
